In this unit, we were given a scenario where two people wanted to plant an orchard. They wanted to know how long it would take before they couldn't be able to see from the center of the orchard to the outside of the orchard. We went over circles, right triangle trigonometry, geometric logic and proof, distance and midpoint formulas, and coordinate geometry.
This unit was a bit challenging, but as we went further on with the lesson, it got pretty fun. It was cool to learn new formulas that will help with future formulas, and to review older formulas that may have been forgotten. This unit helped me further understand how to find a distance between two points using a formula. I also learned a lot more about volume and other geometrical components. After this unit, I have learned how to find the distance between two plots, find the volume, surface area, reviewed how to find the area, circumference, and radius of a circle. I also learned a lot more about right triangle trigonometry. This unit has better prepared me for the upcoming units that we will have in class, and I feel more comfortable with measurements, and trigonometry.
